چکیده

Introduction Infectious bursal disease (IBD) is an acute contagious viral disease of young chickens known as Gumboro disease (Lasher and Shane, 1994). The etiological agent, IBD virus (IBDV), has a predilection for the cells of the bursa of Fabricius where the virus infects lymphocytes of the B-cell lineage (Burkhardt et al., 1987). Thus, IBD is a fatal immunosuppressive disease causing heavy losses to the poultry industry. The current method to detect and differentiate very virulent and vaccine strains of IBDV is by restriction fragment length polymorphism of (RFLP) VP2 gene. However, this method is time consuming, prone to error and less sensitive. The newly developed TaqMan real-time PCR is very sensitive but not suitable as routine test since the test is expensive (Jackwood, et al., 2003). Moreover, application of the assay in detecting very virulent and vaccine strains of IBDV has not been reported. Thus, SYBR Green 1 based real-time PCR assays were developed for the detection and differentiation of very virulent and vaccine strains of IBDV.

Rapid detection of infectious bursal disease by loop-mediated isothermal amplification for field analysis

Infectious bursal disease (IBD) is an immunosuppressive, acute and highly contagious illness of growing-poultry stock infected with infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV). It is common in Pakistan, causing potential economic losses throughout the year. The objective of the study is to propose a rapid, sensitive and specific diagnostic tool, and compare it with existing commonly used reverse tra...

Effect of experimental infectious bursal disease virus on clinical signs and pathogenesis of avian influenza virus H9N2 in turkey by real time PCR

Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) in turkeys may result in immunosuppression, and inability of turkeys to resist nonpathogenic or less pathogenic organisms. A total number of 120 day-old commercial male turkeys were purchased and blood samples were collected from 20 day-old turkeys, remaining 100 were divided into four equal groups and kept in separated rooms. Groups 1 and 2 were infected ...

Introducing a New SYBR green Real-time PCR for Detection of SARS-CoV2 Virus Genome

Background and purpose: There are various methods for molecular detection of SARS-CoV2 genome among which, PCR-based methods are the most reliable for making diagnosis. The majority of approved PCR kits for detection of Coronavirus are based on TaqMan real-time PCR which is expensive due to incorporating fluorescent and quencher-harboring probe. The aim of this study was to design a simple and ...

Two in-House One-Step rRT-PCR Assays, Developed for Accurate and Rapid Molecular Identification of Newcastle Disease Virus, on the basis of SYBR Green and Specific TaqMan Probe

Background and Aims: Newcastle disease virus (NDV) is an avian paramyxovirus (A-PMV 1) and one of the major pathogens in poultries. Vaccination is intended to control the disease, nevertheless this virus is a growing threat to the poultry industry. So, early detection of the virus can prevent the spread of illness and avoid huge economic losses. Towards this goal, in this research, we develop...
